Description

Cocamide diethanolamine (CDEA) is a nonionic surfactant synthesized from natural coconut oil fatty acids and diethanolamine. It is typically a viscous, pale yellow to amber liquid at room temperature.

It possesses powerful thickening, foaming, and foam-stabilizing properties. When used in combination with anionic and amphoteric surfactants, it significantly improves foam richness and persistence, enhances cleaning power, and reduces skin irritation. It exhibits good hard water resistance, emulsifying properties, wetting properties, and antistatic properties.

Common applications include shampoos, shower gels, facial cleansers, hand soaps, dishwashing liquids, laundry detergents, industrial cleaners, wool detergents, and metalworking fluids.
